A BIG Texas 18.6!

Last weekend was a nice 12.5 but the weekend before was a BIG 18.6 along with the kick-off to the Houston Rodeo... everywhere is Cowboy UP all over Houston! Our run included. For the last 4 miles we ran along the Cowboy Trail Ride into downtown Houston. This was a great refresher and something different to look at after a long 14 miles. It couldn't have happened at a better time and even better it was unexpected. We were both feeling a bit guilty we didn't have a our horse loving children with us watching the parade head towards downtown for the real showdown! We listened to some great music and watched all the wagons, horses, cowboys and cowgirls have a great time! Oh and it is great to have one of my running partners with me from Aberdeen to run with again... Layla and her family have officially been back for 3 weeks!

The parade is happening behind us but too hard to see in the picture (we tried)! We were ready to get home and eat at this point! I have found my new favourite post long run meal -ham & cheese kolache (we have lived in Houston twice before but this is my first trying Kolache's).... absolutely perfect post run meal!!!

The kids experienced their very first TEXAS DAY at school! They rocked... how cute is that. I was a bit worried how my kids would be able to wear jeans and boots when the weather was

75 F but luckily it cooled down a bit for them that day!

These last few pictures is US everyday, all day, after school, weekends and we LOVE it... OUTSIDE! I know it will be hot soon but we are loving every minute of it until then! My entire driveway is covered in chalk pictures, toys, bikes, scooters, balls, sprinklers.... JOY!

40 DAYS TO LONDON & 26.2 FOR AUTISM... I can't believe it and will be posting a HUGE POST this week about it all and one dedicated to my sister Amanda.... this weekend is one of our last LONG runs.... 20 miles then a break then another 22.... WAHOOO! 40 days to finish my fund raising too. I am almost there... THANK YOU AGAIN AND AGAIN!
