Sir Thomas Burton served as High Sheriff to the County of Rutland four times during the reigns of Henry V and VI. He had to collect money in the county to lend to the King to in able him to carry on the war in France. It is doubtful any was ever repaid to the lenders.
One of our greatest travellers and writers was Sir Richard Burton. Born in Torquay in 1821, he travelled the world & wrote extensively of his experiences. The armorial bearings illustrated here are for a family Burton.

BURTON is my (Michelle's) maiden name. When we were up at Lochness Jill found these writings & armors about the Burton name. There is a famous family that still lives around Lochness with the name Sir Burton!
