Easter 2009

We had such an amazing weekend! We couldn't have asked for better weather, surrounded by good friends and our faith... we missed Ben dearly (in Houston for work, yes we could have gone but for just 10 days, the jet lag, packing, 15 hour flight etc being home alone with three kids sounded like a much better deal) but we still had a wonderful time. Saturday, we spent the day horseback riding and decorating eggs, and crafts! Sunday, the kids woke up to Eater baskets next to their beds with their own personal Eater egg hunt in their rooms, then downstairs to open baskets, then dressed for church, my friend Tracy made the girls dresses (I guess they are the hit in US right now, pillow case dresses, they are adorable made with loving talented hands), then to the duck pond for daffodil pictures, this time of year the daffodils are everywhere in Aberdeen, on all the hills it is gorgeous so the perfect day to get pictures, then home to make some food for our Easter brunch with friends, it was so much fun and I think we all agreed it almost felt just like home, then back home for the long awaited scavenger hunt, Asia has been asking for months to have a scavenger hunt so I surprised her with one, she was over the moon to say the least, Dakota wasn't sure what was going on but by about the 3rd clue he got it, it said get a spoon and he yelled KITCHEN, I knew he got it... it was adorable, Sierra, she figured out in a second that all these eggs where filled with chocolate so all day long she stole, looked, found, and cried her way into lots of chocolate... it was cute, frustrating and actually a bit clever!!! We are beyond grateful today... enjoy the slide show below!! Oh yeah, Asia's take on the Easter bunny which we haven't discussed much, 'mom the Easter bunny didn't do all that work for us, you did, the Easter bunny is for kids who don't have mommy's, the orphans we have talked about! You could tell it her today what it meant to be an orphan, we have talked about it when giving things to charity here and doing things for church.

Love the slide show, Michelle! It looks like you guys had SO MUCH fun on Easter. The "daffy" pictures are too precious!
